Singapore's Wild Red Junglefowl

Singapore is home to a thriving population of Red Junglefowl (Gallus gallus), the wild ancestor of all domestic chickens. These magnificent birds roam freely across the island, from urban parks to nature reserves.

Once thought extinct here, they made a remarkable comeback in the 1990s โ€” flying from Johor, Malaysia to Pulau Ubin, then to the mainland. Today you can spot them at Bishan Park, Windsor Nature Park, Pasir Ris Park, and even urban spots like Everton Park!
